Use the GOLD value on your current start panel. Public records show Pine Forest at both 1:12.0 and 1:20, while Alpine Pass has shown 1:23.5; a newer Stage Select record labels five values specifically for Orso 4. The conflict is the reason to copy the panel in front of your selected car rather than treating one list as permanent.
Currently documented examples
These are Community reported display records, not official fixed medal rules. Car, parts, class, and version may change the panel.
Calculate the gap
Convert a time to seconds with 60 × minutes + seconds. A result of 1:19.2 is 79.2 seconds. A 1:12.0 target is 72 seconds. Subtract target from result: 79.2 − 72 = +7.2. A positive gap is the amount to save; a negative value is the margin below the target; zero matches it.
Enter a separate penalty only if the result time you copied excludes it. If the game’s displayed result already includes penalties, adding them again doubles the effect. The calculation compares displayed numbers; it does not discover a hidden medal boundary.
Use the gap to choose a realistic change
A gap below a second usually calls for a cleaner exit or less steering correction, not a new car purchase. A several-second gap should be split across sectors or known mistakes. If one recovery cost most of it, practice that corner before changing the whole setup.
Use the replay and sector results where available. Choose the slowest or least consistent section and make one change: brake earlier for a HARD cue, shorten the handbrake input, keep the car away from a snow bank, or delay power until the vehicle points at the exit. Repeat under similar conditions.
Keep first-time rewards separate
A first gold can add a First Gold reward row beside the normal Gold Medal row. One recorded Alpine Pass result showed separate XP and CR entries for those bonuses. Do not budget both into every repeat finish. Read each row on your current Rewards screen.
Medal collectibles can also be one-time unlocks. Their appearance does not mean the same item will be granted again on every gold run. Use CR and XP Rewards for settlement rows and Contracts for objectives that may overlap with a medal attempt.
Resolve conflicting times
When two public values disagree, compare the car, panel location, date, and update. One Pine Forest page has recorded 1:12.0 while another public example cited 1:20. Neither should replace what your current start panel says. Take a screenshot or note the value before beginning the run.
If the target changes after switching cars, treat it as a car-specific display. If it changes after joining a fresh server, treat it as version-sensitive. Report both contexts instead of choosing the number that makes a previous guide look correct.
Prepare the next attempt
Confirm the target, the selected car, handling mode, brake assist, co-driver call detail, and weather. Start from inside the box and avoid an accidental recovery. Callers should give direction and severity early; drivers should brake before the tightest point and use the handbrake briefly rather than holding it.
Use Pine Forest or Alpine Pass for route-specific practice. Use How to Win Races when the issue is consistency rather than target arithmetic.
Record a reproducible medal check
Write down the UTC date, stage, car, active performance parts, handling mode, weather, displayed target, result, and penalty line. Repeat one clean attempt without changing the setup. This small record distinguishes a genuine target change from a different car, an assisted run, or a driving mistake. If a later update changes the panel, keep both observations with their dates instead of erasing the older context.
When sharing the result, call it a displayed observation rather than a universal record. Other players can then compare the same fields and determine whether the target varies by server version, vehicle, or another visible condition.
